Kim Houchin is the Chief Nursing Officer at Minnie Hamilton Heath System, a critical access hospital located in Calhoun County located in central West Virginia. Kim graduated with an associate’s degree in nursing from Parkersburg Community College in 1985, BSN from West Virginia University in 2000, MSN from Marshall University in 2008 as well as her Family Nurse Practitioner certification and her Doctorate in Nursing from Chamberlain in 2016. In addition, Kim has obtained certifications in Infection Control Prevention and Wound Care.
Kim contributes her love of nursing and a lifelong love of learning to her grandmother, Edna Richards who was a lay mid-wife during the depression and later earned her nursing diploma in 1961 after raising 12 children. Kim resides on Beech Road, WV with her husband and their rescue Blue Heeler. She enjoys the many adventures of grandparenting with her two grandchildren.
