Occupational and Speech Therapy

Minnie Hamilton Health Care System works with Odyssey Rehabilitation to provide occupational and speech therapy services at the Grantsville Operations. Services expand to acute care, swing bed, long term care, and outpatient services ranging from birth to adult. West Virginia Birth to Three services are also offered as an outpatient clinical setting.

Speech therapy services cover a variety of disorders including dysphagia, cognitive communication deficits, CVA’s, receptive and expressive language delays, phonological disorders, downs syndrome, stuttering, apraxia of speech, autism and alterative augmentative communication devices.   Additional trainings have been completed with assessment and intervention of Beckman Oral Motor Protocol, Autism Academy, PECS, and ongoing continuing education services to implement overall best evidence based practice therapy.

Occupational therapy services work with a wide variety of clients from pediatric through geriatric population to increase independence and quality of life through functional activities such as dressing, bathing, eating, etc. Services can further assist people affected by strokes, orthopedic difficulties such as but not limited to hip and knee replacement, COPD, cognition, CHF, sensory integration deficits, fine and gross motor delays, and other conditions which limit previous levels of function.
