What is a “Swing Bed” program?
A Swing Bed (or Rehabilitation Bed) is a skilled nursing program designed to provide additional inpatient care to those needing extra time to heal or strengthen before returning home.
When should a patient use a “Swing Bed” program?
Often the swing bed is used for patients who have had surgery such as hip surgery, joint replacement or any other major surgery. Patients who need to recover from an episode of illness have the opportunity to fully recuperate before returning home.
